A photographer is not necessarily the one who has a SLR
camera in his hands. You can take pictures on your smartphone and surprise the
world with beautiful pictures.
At the same time, the quality of images, with the right
approach, will be at a high level.
What to look for when you take a picture:
First, you need to know your phone.
This is your tool for obtaining high-quality images, and
therefore it must be configured correctly.
Firstly, checking the cleanliness of the camera (the phone’s
camera must be cleaned) and its proper settings.
To get photos in high resolution, go to Settings → Camera →
Format → Most compatible (for iPhone owners), you also need to activate the
shooting mode with a grid.
The grid helps to correctly position all objects in the
future photo, to form a composition.
To quickly fix the focus anywhere, you need to make a long
tap on the display.
The exposure is fixed, and “exposure / focus lock” appears
at the top of the display.
By clicking anywhere on the screen again, the focus will
return to automatic mode and the exposure will reset.
Exposure - in other words, the brightness of the picture.
It’s bad when the picture turned out to be too light or too
dark.
The light in the photo cannot be corrected even during
processing.
In order to quickly change the brightness settings of the
picture, it is enough to swipe up or down on the screen.
The iPhone camera allows you to manually adjust the shutter
speed, for this you need to hold your finger on the screen, a yellow square and
a yellow sun icon will appear, you need to move it up or down, so the photo
becomes darker or lighter.
Using this function, you can compensate for the lack of
lighting or vice versa to avoid flare if the light is too bright.
It is important to monitor the quality of the original
image, then processing will please you!
When shooting, turn off the filter effects: black and white,
sepia, and the like have a right to exist, but all these settings are best used
when editing photos in applications.
It is very important not to use the zoom when shooting, this
leads to a sharp deterioration in picture quality: first of all, sharpness is
greatly lost.
If you want to take a picture of an object closer, go to it.
Try not to take pictures in low light if you want the
subject to be lit evenly and minimize the amount of noise.
Successful indoor photos will be obtained only in good
daylight, for example, from a window.
The light from the window is best diffused, soft. Unless, of
course, you want to get sharp shadows in the photo.
Be sure to pay attention to the sources of artificial light
in the room where you plan to photograph.
Avoid fluorescent lights as their light gives objects a
green hue.
It is best to use artificial light as a back light, and
choose natural as the main one.
When shooting in low light, make sure the camera is
stationary. Use a tripod.
With built-in cameras, when there is a lack of light, the
exposure time is greatly increased, and any movement will cause the frame to
get blurry.
Do not forget about the composition and plot of the picture.
Want some interesting photos? Then pay attention to this
item.
Before you take a shot, think about the composition.
Use The Rule Of Thirds
Composing a frame, imagine that it is divided into equal
parts by two horizontal and two vertical lines. Let significant lines or
boundaries coincide with them (for example, the horizon passes at a distance of
1/3 from the upper or lower boundaries), and compositionally important elements
fall at the points of their intersection.
Take pictures by positioning the camera at the eye level of
the people being photographed to avoid distortion caused by the wide-angle lens
of the mobile phone.
Do not shoot people from a distance farther than 5-6 meters
and less than one meter.
Try to ensure that the main subject occupies a sufficient
area of the image, and not get lost among the abundance of secondary
elements.
Use Third-Party Camera Apps
Usually, third-party applications have a large number of
options that are not in the standard application.
For example, lightroom or focos programs.
They allow you to manually select ISO, shutter speed and
aperture.
Take a few shots or use a series.
Try different angles.
If you are not confident in your photographic powers, then
take as many frames as possible (preferably from different angles).
So to Summarize:
To make the photo quality, pay attention to the following:
·
Wipe the camera. The
·
photo should not be overexposed or dark. To do
this, you can manually adjust the exposure.
·
Hard light happens in bright sunshine and
creates sharp contrasts, hard, deep shadows. Soft light makes the photo more
even. It happens in cloudy weather, or it is the light from the window through
a loose curtain.
·
Do not mix artificial light with natural light.
If you photograph indoors - the closer to the window, the better the photo and
the correct white balance.
·
Do not take pictures against the sun.
·
Use the grid on the phone screen to properly
composition the picture.
·
Use third-party camera apps.
·
Take a few shots or use a series.
·
Try different angles.
It is very important not to use a tooth and built-in filter
effects when shooting
And most importantly, don't be afraid to start!
Read the literature on photography, see photos of
professional photographers!
Understand how optics work, what exposure, ISO, aperture,
shutter speed are.
After all, even the most expensive SLR will not make you a
pro, and vice versa, a real photographer will get great pictures from your
smartphone!
I wish you more practice and beautiful photos!
